GENTLE BACKBENDS FOR ANXIETY & TRAUMA
In general, backbends are not recommended for anxiety. However, with trauma or if anxiety is accompanied by bouts of depression, it can feel supportive to open the chest. Be mindful of your energy - backbends are typically energizing so not ideal if you need to calm your nervous system. These two poses are preferred because they allow you to keep your gaze down and are grounding.
